Our goal for GeorgiaBMX.com is to promote BMX racing in Georgia and Georgia BMX racers. We hope to bring you some hot racing photos from both the NBL and ABA tracks in Georgia and from National events around the southeast.
Georgia NBL State Qualifier - River City BMX
Submitted by GeorgiaBMX.com on March 6, 2008 - 7:11am.The first round of the 2008 Georgia NBL State Qualifiers is this weekend at River City BMX in Columbus Georgia. The track can be found at 1655 Elvan Avenue, Columbus GA (Click for Google Maps Directions). Directions: from I-185, take exit 1B, Victory Drive. Go approximately 3 miles and look for the Plaza motel and turn left on to Elvan Ave. The track will be on the right.
This will also be the first round of the local NBL PRO/AM race of 2008.
Pro-am entry fee is $10 per rider. Prizes and hole shot awards to be announced day of event.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
9 am - 11 am Kovachi Wheels Clinic Cost $25 per rider.
12 pm - 2pm Practice and Registration.
2:30pm State meeting and Presidents Cup presentations.
3:00pm State Qualifier and Pro-Am Racing starts.
Drop by PIT row as riders from Clayborn, MCS, Kovachi, Felt, Evolution, Xtraskin, Team Clayborn/Motofiller, Trackstars, TwentyH.com and others will be in attendance.
There will be some great racing action in the PRO/AM as well as riders battling for points in the State Qualifier. Look for most of these PRO and AM riders to be in attendance for a great day of hanging out, riding and racing:

All continents have already held their initial ranking events. With the North American continent slightly ahead in the schedule, Mike Day (USA) and Kyle Bennett (USA) have catapulted to the front in the Elite Men ranking. The ever consistent Sarah Walker (USA) has a slight advantage over Sam Cools (CAN) in the Elite Women Ranking. Our good friend Tom Harper dropped a note off this morning about a PRO/AM race this Sunday up in Coob County at Powder Springs Wildhorse Creek Park. Come out and check out some hot racing. Also, if your 15 Expert or up, gear up and get up on the gate!

Olympic BMX training track opens at UCI headquarters

The UCI is pleased to announce the opening of the newly reconstructed BMX track at the World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland. The UCI track construction team, under the leadership of official UCI track builder Tom Ritzenthaler, has created a replica of the 2008 Olympic Games track.
SWATCH unveiled as new sponsor of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup

UCI announced Swatch as an official sponsor of the upcoming 2007 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup and 2007 UCI BMX World Championships. Swatch will be the official timekeeper and data service, providing the latest technology in timing and data handling.
